SN50 #1 – Nico Vascellari
Sn50 is an editorial project conceived and curated by Gang of Ducks collective.
Each issue an artist is invited to develop a zine on a theme of their own choice, using original or found materials.
In collaboration, Gang of Ducks reinterprets the artist’s selected content by designing the layout of the zine.
This process creates a visual dialogue between the artist and the collective with the aim to mesh ideas and visions.
The violence depicted in the previous pages exists because it is recorded, shared, and commented.
It might not appear within the safe space of our echo chambers, but that does not mean it is not inside someone else’s spectrum.
An in nite grotesque imaginary inhabits the virtual realm, but it is nothing more than the ultimate online archive of what is occurring in the real world.
And it is far from being a passive, silent archive. It’s a hive of activity.
We are attracted by the performativity of violence, but its mediation generates vicious and popular trends.
Violence feeds the web with its creative performances and the Internet endorses violence with the in nity of its sources.
Don’t fear what shocks you, fear what has been legitimised.
